Memento mori

In art, memento mori are artistic or symbolic reminders of mortality. Being aware that life is short and contingent can be a powerful motivator to do what we want to do now before it’s too late.

 

 

As Samuel Johnson said

“When a man knows he is to be hanged…it concentrates his mind wonderfully.”

 

 

 

Think of keeping a memento mori in your study, or on your desk or computer as a reminder not to wait or make excuses.
